Rated Awesome: Pink, Candy and Stilettos’ “Women to Watch” Series

pinkcandysmallToday marks the end of Women’s History Month in the United States–a month that we think is important to honor no matter where we are in the world. As we round out the month, we must admit that it was filled with eye-opening moments and pretty awesome expressions of women’s stories by pretty awesome women. As storytellers, we often look to and admire the stories of successful women all year long, but sometimes struggle to identify those stories in abundance. However, in honor of Women’s History Month this year, Pink, Candy & Stilettos’ founder and editor-in-chief D’Sheka Perkins set forth a wonderful opportunity to find inspiration in the stories of women working to make history today. Covering women in fields that run the gamut from science and social entrepreneurship to ministry, she presented a host of engaging interviews in the site’s “Women to Watch Series.” It’s a great Sunday morning read or an inspirational boost for any day of the week…it’s not too late to read the series from start to finish. After all, it is Rated Awesome!

Here are just a few of our favorites to get you started:

WOMEN TO WATCH: OPERA MEETS HIP-HOP, ASHA LINDSEY

WOMEN TO WATCH: THE HIP-HOP EDUCATOR, PRINCESS BEST

WOMEN TO WATCH: THE SOCIAL ACTIVIST, RAHIEL TESFAMARIAM

WOMEN TO WATCH: TWINPRENEURS, MELISSA AND MICHELE MATTHEWS

As you know and we clearly state on the “About the Chronicles” and “Behind the Chronicles” pages, The Common Ground Chronicles is all about giving everyday women a platform to have their voice be heard and hopefully connect with other like-minded women. Well, we know that we’re not the only game in town and every time we get a chance, we want to shout out other blogs that are doing what we’re doing in their own way. It is in this spirit that we have created the Rated Awesome feature series to salute blogs (and online magazines) we love that are by, for and about women.
